Pushing: chest, shoulders and triceps
Machine chest press
Muscles worked: Chest · shoulders · triceps

How to do it
- Set up. Adjust the seat so the handles are around chest height. Keep your back supported and both feet on the floor.
- Move. Push the handles forward smoothly, keeping wrists aligned and avoiding a forceful elbow lockout.
- Finish. Return the handles under control. Keep your shoulders against the support and follow the machine setup guide.
Common mistakes
- Seat too low or high, so the handles don’t line up with mid-chest.
- Shoulders shrugging up.
- Locking the elbows hard.
