Terms & Conditions
These terms apply when you create a Fit Fit City account, buy a membership or a gift membership, or use the member area. Please read them before you pay.
1. Who we are
Fit Fit City is run by B L Notts Holdings Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company number 16782785), trading as FitFitCity. Registered office: 54 Pathfinder Way, Castle Donington, Derby DE74 0AJ, United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@fitfitcity.com or by post at the address above. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean B L Notts Holdings Ltd.
2. Who can join
You must be 18 or over and live in the UK or another country where you can lawfully use the service. Fit Fit City isn’t suitable for anyone under 18. You need an account to use the member area, and the information you give us must be accurate.
When you sign up, you tick one box to confirm that you’re 18 or over and that you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Health & Fitness Disclaimer. We keep a record of when you did so.
3. What you get
Membership gives you access to our online training plans, exercise instructions, meal plans and recipes, the workout log (which can fill in each day’s exercises from the plan you choose to follow), personal bests, challenges, the optional progress tracker and the optional food diary and calorie tracker for as long as your membership is active.
Calorie and nutrition figures in the food diary, recipes and meal plans are estimates, for general guidance only, not medical or dietary advice. The food diary is stored on your device, not with your account, so it won’t move between devices and is lost if you clear your browser data.
It is general fitness and nutrition information only. It isn’t medical advice, one-to-one coaching or a personal diet plan, and it isn’t tailored to you. Before you start, read our Health & Fitness Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms. In particular:
- check with your GP or a qualified professional first if you are pregnant, injured, or have a heart condition, blood pressure problems, diabetes or an eating disorder (or have had one);
- you exercise at your own risk; use correct form, use equipment safely (including safety arms or bars for barbell lifts), follow your gym’s rules, and stop if you feel pain, dizziness or unusual breathlessness;
- recipes aren’t tailored to you; check allergens on every product label yourself, and treat calorie and protein figures as estimates;
- membership isn’t suitable for anyone with a history of eating disorders without professional guidance;
- we don’t guarantee any particular result; and
- images are illustrative and content may contain errors; please report any you find to hello@fitfitcity.com.
Membership also includes tools such as swapping workout days, easier options under exercises, tips if you tell us about something to work around (such as your knees or lower back), a weekly muscle map, strength and progress charts, progress photos, reminders and nudges you can switch on or off, offline logging and a download of your data. Some of these keep information only on your device (our Privacy Policy lists which), so it won’t move between devices and is lost if you clear your browser data. Tips, easier options and suggestions of what to train next are general guidance, not medical or physiotherapy advice.
We may update, add or remove content from time to time. We won’t make changes that substantially reduce what you paid for during your paid term or, on the monthly plan, during your 12-month minimum term.
3A. Training plans, how hard they are, and your part
Plans vary. Our plans range from gentle to very demanding. Some sessions last 60 to 75 minutes, with seven or more exercises, heavy weights, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and cardio. Each plan shows roughly how long its sessions take.
The readiness check. Before you first start a plan on a device, we ask you to read a short list of health questions. If any of them applies to you, please speak to your GP or a qualified health professional before you begin. We don’t store your answers.
Your choices. You choose which plan to follow, whether to swap days, how much weight to use and whether to do every exercise and set. Please pick a plan that suits your fitness and experience, build up gradually, keep at least one rest day a week and stop if something feels wrong. If a health professional gives you different advice from ours, follow theirs.
Our part. We prepare our plans, exercise instructions and safety guidance with reasonable care and skill, and we say how long sessions take. We can’t see you train, check your technique or know your health, so we can’t tell whether a particular plan is right for you. That is why the guidance in our Health & Fitness Disclaimer matters.
Nothing in this section limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability described in section 13.1.
4. Price and payment
You can pay for membership in one of two ways. Both give exactly the same membership.
- Yearly: £79 for 12 months, paid upfront, renewing every 12 months (section 5).
- Monthly, 12-month plan: £9.99 a month, with a 12-month minimum term. That is 12 monthly payments, £119.88 in total. After the 12 months it carries on month to month until you switch it off in your online account (section 5A).
Paying yearly costs £40.88 less than 12 monthly payments. Payments are processed by Stripe (Stripe Managed Payments), and Link, LLC (part of Stripe) is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, deals with VAT and issues your receipt, and its own terms apply to the payment. We remain responsible for providing your membership and the member content, and for the promises in these terms. We never see or store your full card details.
VAT: B L Notts Holdings Ltd is not registered for VAT and does not charge VAT. Where VAT or other sales taxes apply, Stripe charges and collects them, and they are included in the price shown.
The contract is formed when your payment is confirmed. We’ll confirm your purchase by email.
5. Automatic renewal (yearly membership)
If you pay yearly, your membership renews automatically every 12 months, and we’ll take the renewal payment from the payment method you used, unless you switch off renewal first.
- Your price is protected. Existing members keep the price they joined at until their next renewal date. If the renewal price is going to change, we’ll tell you before the renewal and you can switch off renewal if you don’t want to continue.
- Reminder before renewal. Before each renewal, Stripe, our payment provider, emails you a reminder on our behalf with the renewal date and the amount. Your renewal date is also in your confirmation email and always shown under Account in the member area, where you can switch off renewal at any time before it.
- Switching off renewal. You can switch off automatic renewal for the next year at any time in your online account (Account in the member area). Your access then continues until the end of the 12 months you’ve already paid for, and nothing more is charged.
5A. Monthly plan (12-month plan)
- What you pay: £9.99 a month, all taxes included. Your first payment is taken when you join and your access starts straight away. After that we take £9.99 on the same day each month, from the payment method you used. If a month doesn’t have that day (for example the 31st), the payment is taken on the last day of that month. Your next payment date is always shown under Account in the member area.
- A 12-month contract: The monthly plan is a 12-month contract and the payments for the full term are payable. The minimum term starts on the day you join and is 12 monthly payments, £119.88 in total. Your confirmation email and your Account page show the date your minimum term ends.
- Switching off renewal after the 12 months: From month 13 it carries on monthly until you switch it off in your online account; if you switch it off during the 12 months, it takes effect when they end. Your online account is Account in the member area, or you can email hello@fitfitcity.com. When it takes effect, your plan ends on that date, the monthly payments left until then remain payable on their usual dates (we won’t take them all at once), and you keep full access until the end. Nothing is taken after that.
- Ending early: Switching off renewal or telling us you want to stop doesn’t end the plan before the 12 months are up. You won’t have to pay for the rest of the minimum term only if: (a) we break these terms in a serious way, or the member content is faulty and we can’t put it right (section 8); (b) we change these terms or the service in a way that is significantly to your disadvantage (section 14); (c) we close your account for a reason that isn’t your fault (section 10); or (d) during the minimum term you develop a serious illness or injury that stops you exercising for the rest of the term. For (d), email us with evidence such as a fit note, and we’ll stop the remaining payments from the next payment date. This doesn’t limit any other right you have by law.
- After the minimum term: If you haven’t switched off renewal, your membership carries on month to month at £9.99 a month, on the same payment date, until you cancel. There’s no new minimum term. You can cancel at any time in your online account; nothing more is taken after that, and you keep access until the end of the month you’ve already paid for. Paid months aren’t refunded.
- Reminder before your minimum term ends: When we take your 12th monthly payment, about a month before your minimum term ends, we’ll email you the date it ends, what you’ll pay after that and how to cancel.
- Deleting your account: Deleting your account doesn’t end the monthly plan early. If you delete your account during the minimum term, the payments left are still taken on their usual dates even though you can no longer log in, so we ask you to confirm this first. If you want to keep using Fit Fit City until the term ends, keep your account and switch off renewal after the 12 months instead.
- Offers: The £49 first-year offer after a free week, and any promotion codes, are for the yearly membership only. Gift memberships are yearly only (section 7).
5B. Price changes
Your price won’t go up during a paid term: the yearly price stays the same for the 12 months you’ve paid for, and the monthly plan stays at £9.99 a month for the whole 12-month minimum term. We may change our prices after that. If your price is going to change, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the new price first applies to you, and you can switch off renewal or cancel before then at no cost. A price change never applies to a payment you’ve already made.
5C. Failed payments
If a payment doesn’t go through, Stripe will try again and you keep access while it does. Please update your card under Account › Manage billing. If payments still can’t be taken, we may suspend or end your access. Any payments due under your plan remain payable. We don’t add fees or interest for a failed payment.
6. Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. Membership is digital content, and when you sign up you ask for access to start straight away and confirm that you understand you’ll lose the right to cancel once it does. Because access begins as soon as your payment is confirmed, the 14-day right to cancel ends at that point. This applies to both the yearly membership and the monthly plan. On the monthly plan, the waiver covers the whole plan: the 14-day right doesn’t start again with each monthly payment. If you don’t give this consent, we can’t start your access straight away. Your rights if the content is faulty (section 8) are not affected. Full details are in our Cancellation & Refunds policy.
7. Gift memberships
- A gift membership is a one-off payment of £79. It does not renew and you don’t need an account to buy one.
- After payment you receive a gift code. We honour gift codes for at least 12 months from the date of purchase.
- When the code is redeemed, the recipient gets 12 months’ membership from the date of redemption. If they already have gift time remaining, the new 12 months is added on the end. If they have a paid membership, the code can be redeemed once that paid membership has ended, so no time is wasted.
- If the code hasn’t been redeemed, the buyer can ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Once a code has been redeemed it can’t be refunded.
- Each code works once. Keep it safe: anyone who has the code can redeem it.
7A. Free week offer
This offer is run by B L Notts Holdings Ltd, trading as Fit Fit City (details in section 1).
- 25 available. There are 25 free weeks in total. The number left that we show is the live count from our system. The offer ends when all 25 have been claimed, and the pop-up and claim button stop showing.
- One per person, 18 or over. One free week per person, per account and per email address. You must be 18 or over.
- How to claim. Choose “Claim now”, then create an account or log in and tick the confirmation box. There is no code to share.
- No card and no auto-renewal. You don’t give any payment details and nothing renews.
- Access ends after 7 days. Your member access ends automatically 7 days after the moment you claim. Your account isn’t deleted: it becomes a free account, and you can join at any time.
- No cash alternative. The free week can’t be exchanged for cash or transferred to someone else.
- Fair use. We may end a free week early if it was claimed using false details or more than one account.
First-year offer after a free week
- If you claimed a free week, you can join for £49 for your first 12 months, then £79 a year. Switch off renewal any time. We show this offer, with an “Upgrade now” button, in the member area during your free week and after it ends.
- Earlier free weeks keep their price. If you claimed your free week while we were offering £39.50 for the first 12 months (half price), that is still your price: £39.50 for your first 12 months, then £79 a year.
- The membership renews automatically at £79 every 12 months unless you switch off renewal in your Member Account before the renewal date. You can switch off renewal at any time, and you keep access until the end of the time you’ve paid for. Sections 4 to 6 apply as they do to any membership.
- The discount is applied for you at checkout. It can be used once per account and only applies to the first 12 months.
- The offer is for the yearly membership only. You can choose the monthly plan instead (£9.99 a month, 12-month minimum term, section 5A), but the first-year price doesn’t apply to it.
This offer and these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales (see section 16).
7B. Clothing and Gold membership (not on sale yet)
Our clothing and the Gold membership are shown as “coming soon”. You can’t buy them yet, and we don’t take orders, deposits or payment details for them. Prices and details may change before they launch. Before they go on sale we’ll add the terms that apply to them, including your right to cancel an order for clothing within 14 days of receiving it.
8. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
The digital content we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it isn’t, you can ask us to repair or replace it, and if we can’t do that within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you may be entitled to a price reduction or a refund. If faulty digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content, and that happened because we didn’t use reasonable care and skill, we’ll repair the damage or pay you compensation. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
9. Your account
Keep your password private. Your membership is for you only: don’t share your login, resell access, copy or republish member content, scrape the site or try to get around the paywall. You can delete your account at any time from the account page. On the monthly plan, deleting your account during the minimum term doesn’t end the plan early (section 5A).
10. Suspending or ending your account
We may suspend or close an account if there is fraud, a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or a security risk. If we close your account for a reason that isn’t your fault, we’ll refund the unused part of your paid term and, on the monthly plan, stop all further payments.
11. Our content
The Fit Fit City name, logo, site design, plans, instructions, recipes and other content belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal use while your membership is active.
12. Availability
We aim to keep the service available but can’t promise it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or a problem with our hosting provider. If the service is unavailable for a long period during your paid term, contact us and we’ll put things right.
13. Our liability to you
13.1 What we can’t exclude. Nothing in these terms or our Health & Fitness Disclaimer limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (or that of our employees or agents), for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that can’t be limited or excluded by law. Nothing affects your statutory rights, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (see section 8).
13.2 What we’re responsible for. Subject to 13.1, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
13.3 What we aren’t responsible for. Subject to 13.1, we aren’t responsible for indirect or consequential loss, meaning loss that wasn’t a foreseeable result of our breach when the contract was made, or for business losses (such as loss of profit or business opportunity), because the service is for personal use.
13.4 Limit. Subject to 13.1, our total liability to you for all claims arising from or in connection with your membership is limited to the fees paid for your membership (by you, or by the person who bought you a gift membership) in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
13.5 Your choices. Exercise carries some risk of injury, even when it is done correctly. You’re responsible for the choices described in section 3A, for choosing foods that suit you and for following the safety guidance in our Health & Fitness Disclaimer. If you are injured, the law may take into account your own part in what happened. This doesn’t reduce our responsibility under 13.1 or 13.2 where we have been negligent.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes in the law or in the service. If a change affects your membership in a significant way, we’ll tell you by email before it applies, and you can switch off renewal or cancel if you don’t accept it. If you’re on the monthly plan and the change is significantly to your disadvantage, you can end the plan before the change applies without paying for the rest of the minimum term.
15. Complaints
If something goes wrong, email hello@fitfitcity.com and we’ll reply within 5 working days.
16. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
