Pushing: chest, shoulders and triceps
Incline dumbbell press
Muscles worked: Upper chest · shoulders · triceps

How to do it
- Set up. Set a stable bench to a modest incline. Sit back with feet planted and bring the dumbbells to the sides of your chest.
- Move. Press the weights up over your upper chest, keeping wrists supported and shoulder blades controlled against the bench.
- Finish. Lower the weights slowly to a comfortable depth. Keep your head and back on the bench the whole time.
Common mistakes
- Bench angle set too steep, which turns it into a shoulder press.
- Arching your lower back off the bench.
- Dumbbells drifting apart at the top.
