Core and carries
Ab wheel
Muscles worked: Abdominals · trunk

How to do it
- Set up. Kneel on a mat with the wheel under your shoulders. Brace your stomach and tuck your pelvis slightly so your lower back doesn't arch.
- Move. Roll forward only as far as you can without your hips sagging or your back arching. Start with a short range.
- Finish. Pull back to the start using your stomach muscles, not your hips. Skip this exercise if you're pregnant, have recently given birth or have low-back pain. Do a plank instead.
Common mistakes
- Rolling further than you can control.
- Lower back sagging.
- Attempting it without building plank strength first.
